No Kings Day – June 14

Millions of us march tomorrow!

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, millions of people in over 2,000 locations across the US,and many locations in other countries, will rally to protest Donald Trump’s authoritarian actions that have seriously damaged our democracy.

A graphic from nokings.org that explains "About No Kings". It states: On June 14—Flag Day—President Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else. No Kings is a nationwide day of defiance. From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we’re taking action to reject authoritarianism—and show the world what democracy really looks like. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind. The flag doesn’t belong to President Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it. On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

We’ll be joining friends and neighbors at a rally across the river in Clarkston, Washington.

A couple reminders

I’ve shared these tips before, but they bear repeating.

ACLU – Protesters’ Rights

The American Civil Liberties Union has prepared a detailed document that explains your rights as an organizer and a participant in protest events.

We encourage anyone attending an No Kings Day event to review the document and carry a copy.

Know your phone numbers

I read this item from nobhillsal on Mastodon recently. It made a lot of sense.

unsolicited advice: memorize phone numbers of a few people (with good contacts) who will actually help you if something unusual happens to you (usually that ain’t your momma)

If you go, be loud, be non-violent, and be safe! We’ll see you in the streets.

  1. Mike,
We are on the road traveling back to Wichita, after visiting the grandkids in New York. Today we’ll be among the protestors in Lexington, Kentucky. We brought our signs with us, as we knew we would protest wherever we happened to be on the road. Gotta keep fighting for Democracy!!

    • Richard,
I’m guessing as I write this (09:35 PST) that you all are already in the mix in Lexington. I hope you have a very positive experience. We’ll be on the street in about 2 1/2 hours.
Drive safely on your way home.
