This is our first “postcard” from Italy – a brief post with reflections on what we’ve seen and tasted.
On the first stop of our North Carolina road trip, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Cúrate, a tapas bar in Asheville, North Carolina.

When our Saturday night plans were cancelled, we took a chance on an untried recipe. The result was a wonderful meal at home.
We found a delicious and surprisingly affordable dinner on Waikiki at Murakame Udon.
After our hike to the harbor on the first day, it was late morning and we decided to start back toward the other end of Waikiki to get lunch. A couple miles later, we were having lunch at a local Honolulu landmark.
We’re visiting Hawaii to enjoy some warm weather and good food. Here’s our first installment.
Doing this “food journey” has prompted us to try new recipes and learn about other places and cultures. Hakka Salt-Baked Chicken is a good example.
